Before Boo at the Zoo

As mentioned in my previous post, before we went to Boo at the Zoo we strolled through Riverbanks Zoo for a few hours.

Ready to hit Riverbanks!!

This was a zebra made from recycled materials.

Giddy up!

Boo at the Zoo

The Saturday before Halloween Lorelai, Miller, Ma, and I hopped into the Explorer and headed down to Columbia to visit Riverbanks Zoo.  We visited the zoo for a few hours before closing time (pictures to follow in a later post) and then we went to the car to change into costumes to get ready for the evening's activities.
Miller as the Red Power Ranger all suited up and ready for candy.

I wasn't sure how chilly the evening would prove to be, so I brought his ski cap just in case.
Lorelai as Sulley.

I didn't wear a costume, just a purple wig.
Ma all decked out in her blinking candy corn necklaces and eyeball glasses.

Here's something you don't see everyday ~ Sulley milking a cow.

 Fun in the Foam Zone!

Ma's fun glasses.

Cover Girl

While participating in the American Girl Fashion Show, the photographers of the event took pictures of each girl against a back drop that they later turned into a mock-magazine cover.  Here are Lorelai and McKenna on the cover of "Carolina Girl" magazine.

Just to Get Things Started

Here are a few pictures from the trunk-or-treat that we went to last night.  On our way back to the car we ran into Rob, Lisa, Sierra, and Chase.  We stopped off for a brief photo shoot and let the kids run around a bit to get their "candy energy" out.

Chase was Mike Wazowski, Miller was the Red Power Ranger, Lorelai was a High School Musical cheerleader, and Sierra was Rapunzel.

My adorable Power Ranger.

The Tooth Fairy Cometh

On Monday Lorelai had a holiday from school.  While she and my mom were at the mall Lorelai pulled out her first loose tooth!  It had been wiggly for weeks, but the big day finally arrived.  Here is our very own toothless wonder.  (Forgive her "cheesy" grin, but when you have a child whose usual smile shows no teeth it's tricky to get them to smile with a giant toothy grin ~ minus one.)  She awoke the next morning to find $1 under pillow.  She was ecstatic!

Killing Time

On Wednesday nights Lorelai has hop hop class and CCD (the Catholic version of Sunday school.)  Normally Miller stays with Dan while I cart Lorelai around, but this week Dan is on a golf trip so I dragged poor Miller with me on my weekly trek.  Since each class is only an hour long, and it's too far to drive all the way home in between, Miller and I killed time taking self-portraits on my cell phone.
These posted out of order, but after dance class and before CCD, Lorelai and I had time for a few pictures, too.  The others didn't turn out well, so this is the only one that made the cut.  ( I love how Miller is peeking over the back of the chair to look at himself in the rearview mirror.)
My sweet, sweet boy.

Blessings

Here are a few cute pictures that I took while we were at the Scarecrow Festival in Pendleton.  I am so blessed to have such a beautiful family.
