Back to the Beach

Here are some more pictures from our trip to Destin when we headed out to Crab Island.

 Our sweet pig-tailed Lorelai.
Posing with her favorite Monster High doll, Draculaura.  This one was actually Caroline and Bella's, but luckily she got one of her own for her birthday.
Hey, everybody!
Checking out the open sea.
 My boys.

We made it!!
Dolphin watching!
Nothing beats a Coke in a glass bottle ~ or in this case, a Diet Coke.

Time for a rest on the boat ride home.

Celebrating at Chuck E. Cheese

Lorelai has begged us on more than one occasion to have her birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese.  This year, thanks to her grandparents, she was able to have that wish come true.

We didn't have a formal birthday party, but Dan did go to great lengths to make sure she got a Chuck E. Cheese birthday crown.  The smile on her face says it all.

We attempted several shots of a family photo and this was the best of the bunch.

Not the best picture I've ever taken of him but couldn't help posting it because I am totally in love with his piercing blue eyes.
The generous grandparents.  A special thanks, also, to Ma and Pap for helping make the day so special.

Back in the spring we attended a birthday party at Pump It Up for one of Lorelai's classmates.  Here are some pictures from that fun day.

First Day of School 2012 ~ Kindergarten

Today was Lorelai's first official day of "big school."  As soon as I went to wake her up she hopped out of bed and was ready to hit the ground running.  She also graciously modeled for me before we headed to school.

Her new backpack that's almost as big as she is.

Her sweet friend Olivia was kind enough to pose for me, too.  Olivia's mom is a teacher also, so these two girls will get to spend each morning chatting in the carline since they have to be dropped off at 7:30 am on the dot.
One more hug good-bye before it's time to head off to K-5!!

Drama-Rama

Last Saturday Lorelai went to a birthday party at the South Carolina Children's Theatre.  Of course it was right up our little drama queen's alley.

First, they had to pretend to be different types of animals.  They started with a kangaroo.

Then they moved on to an octopus.

A platypus was also on the agenda.  Before they could pretend to be one they had to decide if the duckbills would be made with their mouths...
...or with their hands.
They settled on hands.  Apparently Lorelai's platypus was angry.
After cake and presents, the parents were asked to wait in the lobby so that the kids could practice a play to perform for us.  They did "Sleeping Beauty."

Lorelai was cast as the 3rd fairy, Meriweather.  As luck would have it she is my favorite fairy!  Adoring this picture of her.
Giving Princess Aurora her special gift/blessing.
 Time to run off-stage.
Peeking out from behind the curtain.
After the play was finished Lorelai posed for her #1 fan.
Time to take a bow.
Clearly this girl is completely comfortable on the stage.
