Having a BLAST!

We celebrated Miller's 5th birthday with his cousins down in Destin.  We went to a local arcade for a fun afternoon of games and prizes.

Lorelai and her new dolphin, Surf, before we headed out to meet Caroline and Bella.

Miller's cool new birthday shirt that Aunt Carol made for him.
The handsome birthday boy.

Ready to put their Blast cards to work.
Riding the rollercoasters.

Another Blast card ready for action.
Lorelai loved this jump rope game.

Playing air hockey with Bella.
Miller hit the jackpot on this game ~ WOW!!
Lorelai spend half of her Blast card on the crane machine...but it looks like it paid off.

Couldn't believe the girls all ended up wearing pink shirts and white pants, with no planning at all.

Colorful Camouflage Cake

Last weekend Lorelai and her friends were in a cooking mood.  First, they made homemade ice cream.  When they were finished with that they needed a new project.  They decided that cake baking was the way to go.  They made a pink camouflage cake and decorated it with lots of bright icing and sprinkles.  They even took a piece of her Monster High furniture and decorated it.  What a creative bunch!

Roller Derby

Every Thursday night for the past few weeks we have met Katie Grace and Susan at The Skate Place for a few fun hours of roller skating.  I hope it's a tradition that we can keep up now that the craziness of the school year is upon us.

Beaming with Pride

I could not be a more proud parent than I am right now.  Today when I picked up Miller and Lorelai from school, Miller's teacher walked them to the car.  She informed me that he was doing a wonderful job getting acclimated and that she wished that all of her students were like him.  She said that he listens well, follows directions, participates, and is doing a phenomenal job.  When Lorelai stated that she was upset her teacher hadn't made a comment like that about her Miller said, "You can do it.  You just have to believe in yourself and concentrate."  How adorable is that?!?

A New Troop of Friends

This year Lorelai will be skipping the Daisy portion of Girl Scouts and jump in feet first as a Brownie.  She will be in her friend Katie Grace's troop (#1445) and she is soooo excited to be able to start this rite of passage.  Yesterday was the Welcome Back Pool Party where she got to meet all of the girls in her troop.  Some are old friends that we haven't seen in years while others are brand new.  She got along with everyone famously and I can tell this is going to be a great group to be involved in.

Tasty treats.

 Ready to hit the water.

Elena and Lorelai.  Elena is actually in Lorelai's CCD class at St. Luke's.  They will celebrate their First Communion together in the spring.
