OK, so yesterday Dan, the kids, Ma, and I made the trek down to Riverbanks Zoo for a day of animal watching and an evening of Boo at the Zoo. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the ticket counter we were informed that the evenings' festivities were sold out. Major bummer! On the bright side we are headed back today and Pap is going to join us. Six merry travelers on our way to a spooktacular Halloween celebration-woo hoo!
Miller patiently waiting while our tickets are being purchased.
First stop...the lorikeets. This little guy was molting so his feathers had seen better days.
They had booths set up for Boo at the Zoo so the kids stopped at every booth to have their pictures made.
This giant plant reminded Lorelai and me of Seymour from "Little Shop of Horrors."
Eeeek-a spider!
Miller's favorite attraction is the pony rides. It's very popular so we took some pictures while we waited in line.
Love this one even though her chin got cut off.
Whoa!!
My little equestrians.
The track around the train route was decorated to the hilt.
This tombstone was cool. One angle revealed a portrait...
...while the other revealed a skeleton.
Possibly my favorite picture of the day.
He's looking right at me! :)
Having a snack. My skeleton fish crew.
We all took turns getting photographed on the elephant.
And I do mean ALL of us.
Turtle time!
The fish/reptile house - Lorelai's favorite exhibit.
Dan was explaining that piranhas eat people. Lorelai was repeating back the information in disbelief.
Posing with an Asian water monitor, just like Mrs. Kipling from "Jessie."
Dan wanted his turn, too.
Adore this picture, too!
A quick stop off for a photo with Ma before heading to the bird house.
Ma's favorite.
An "O" for everybody.
Last stop of the day...climbing the rock wall.
Whew!
Direct quote - "That was awesome!"
