Road Trip
So last weekend while Dan was out of town on his annual golf trip the kids and I picked up Saturday morning and drove to Knoxville. One of my dearest friends, Meg, and her two boys live there. Her oldest, Brennen, has been Lorelai's boyfriend in some form or fashion since they were in 4K together. It was a very brief trip but everybody had a great time!
We surprised Brennen at his baseball game and then he rode with us to the hotel.
He told Lorelai if he had known she was coming he would have dressed cooler. I told him it was ok, girls love a guy in uniform!
Dressed up for her dinner date. Lorelai, Miller, Brennen, and Brennen's dad went to Mr. Gatti's for dinner so the mom's could have some girl time to catch up.
Even all dressed up she still has sass and spirit.
Brennen's little brother, Braxton. We got to be there to help celebrate his 1st birthday.
Brennen and Meg stayed in the hotel with us. We ordered room service for breakfast before we had to head back to South Carolina. They happy couple sat together eating Belgian waffles.
Miller got the most delicious breakfast on the menu - oatmeal that came with granola, raisins, cranberries, and brown sugar!!

"Rockin" Birthday Party
Last weekend Lorelai, my mom, and I went down to Georgia to attend a birthday party for a very good friend of Lorelai's. Her name is Ashlyn and she was celebrating her 10th birthday a very cool store in the Mall of Georgia called "My Room Rocks." The kids are given blank canvas dollhouse rooms to decorate as they see fit.
Ashlyn's gorgeous (and totally delicious) cake homemade by her mom, Jennifer. The table set up for the girls to come and have tasty party treats.
Each girl was given a blank room, a bed, a nightstand, and an armoire.
The super cool tape dispensers-I want one!!
The checklist to make sure each room gets all of the fun components.
The adorable birthday girl.
My mom, Jennifer-Ashlyn's mom, and Dale (AKA Mimi) - my mom's childhood best friend.
Two generations of friendships.
