On our first official day home for summer break I tried to think up some fun indoor activities due to inclement weather. One of my favorite activities to do with my students is making edible Play-Doh. I had some ingredients leftover from the last time I let my students make this treat, so I decided to see if it was as big of a hit at home as it is at school.
The ingredients: equal parts peanut butter, powdered milk, and honey. Add some flour for texture.
First up, the honey ~ that way the peanut butter will slide out of the measuring cup more easily. Next up, the peanut butter. While it may slide out of the measuring cup fairly easily, clearly it is not quite as agreeable to get out of the container at times.
Taste Test Time.
Last official ingredient ~ powdered milk.
Time to get your hands dirty. The flour added a little at a time keeps the mixture from sticking to your hands.
She refused to wear a headband so her hair kept falling in her face.
Eventually she realized maybe her mom wasn't so crazy to recommend the headband idea. While she mixed, Miller added the flour.
Clearly a baker who gets into his work.
Giving it a good karate chop.
Sneaking a bite.
Miller didn't like the taste of it, but he still wanted to play.
Lorelai kept saying, "This is sooooo good!"
Eventually the ball of Play-Doh disappeared.
